WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman is being charged after police say she attempted to light her hospital room on fire.
Officers say Clara Pratt was a patient at UPMC on Saturday when a nurse found her setting her bedding on fire.
Firefighters raise concerns over 911 Centers consolidation
Police say the nurse told them that she saw Pratt blowing on the flames, trying to spread them to more of the bedding, but the nurse quickly acted to put the flames out.
Investigators say when asked why she lit her blanket on fire, she said she wanted to see if the lighter would work.
Pratt is being charged with arson and other related charges.
