HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two men were arrested after police say they intercepted a drug transaction that caused a 24-minute chase.
On Tuesday, April 1, the Drug Enforcement Agency in New York informed investigators of a possible drug transaction happening in the Hazleton area.
According to the Hazleton City Police, officers set up surveillance in the area of South Locust Street and saw the transaction being made.
Police said they then converged on the vehicles, causing one man to flee on foot and two others to flee the area in a car at high speed. The man running from police was captured and identified as Josue Agramonte Moreta.

The other two males led police on a chase into West Hazleton when they eventually stopped and fled into a wooded area, officers reported.
Detectives stated after a 24-minute chase through the woods, the driver, Cristopher Jimenez Roso, was arrested. The other suspect in the car was not found and has not been identified.

Jimenez Roso and Agramonte Moreta have been charged with fleeing and drug-related offenses. Both remain in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a $50,000 straight bail.
