KRZ Closet event making prom dreams come true in Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Hundreds of local students are now ready for prom night thanks to a special dress sale in Scranton.

98.5 KRZ hosted its KRZ Closet event this afternoon at the marketplace at Steamtown.

More than 300 new and gently used prom dresses were available for just $10 each.

The money raised will support the NEPA Youth Shelter, a non-profit in South Scranton that helps local kids in need.

One student tells 28/22 News it was worth the wait to find the perfect dress.

"I am so excited to have finally found my dress after searching for a little while, been here for like two hours about, and I finally found it!" said Dupont resident Sephina Cornwall.

"So many people here have found the prom dress of their dreams today, like hundreds of people, it's been really heartwarming," 98.5 KRZ Morning Show Co-host Lissa Krahnke stated.

KRZ hopes to make KRZ Closet an annual event.
