DRUMS, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Rain or shine, anglers across Pennsylvania are celebrating the start of Trout Season this weekend.
The season officially opened saturday morning, and countless fishermen are already casting lines in streams and lakes statewide.
This year, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocked more than 3,000,000 adult trout, including 72,000 trophy-sized fish.

In Luzerne County, some local anglers lined the shoreline at Nescopeck State Park, and it's clear Mother Nature could not rain on their parade.
"It's a little rainy, but there's no wind, it's a nice day to get out. Any day you can take the kids out is a nice day," said Leonard Sklaney, a fisher from Hanover.
"Plan on coming back for the next few days when I'm not working, come back here or someplace else, and enjoy it. To me, it's the early days of unofficial Summer," Fisher from Plains Township, Paul Sabol explained.
Anglers can keep up to five trout per day during the regular season, which runs through Labor Day.
