3 adults and 3 juveniles charged after alleged poaching

SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Three adults and three juveniles are facing charges after the alleged illegal poaching of seven deer, a raccoon, and the attempted killing of four additional deer.

After an investigation that began in October of 2023, the Pennsylvania Game Commission said the individuals were driving around at night, spotlighting, and shooting deer from their vehicle.

Christian Thomas, 23, Noxen Township, has been charged with five counts of corruption of minors, 36 summary charges of the PA Game and Wildlife Code, and other related charges.

Allen Thomas, 21, Noxen Township, has been charged with four counts of corruption of minors and 10 summary charges of the PA Game and Wildlife Code.

Timothy Arthur, 50, Springville Township, has been charged with one count of corruption of minors and two summary charges of the PA Game Wildlife Code.

The three juveniles have collectively been charged with 65 summary charges of the PA Game Wildlife Code.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission says two of the adult defendants have prior PA Game Law convictions from previous hunting-related charges.

“These charges send a clear message that poaching and illegal hunting activities will not be tolerated,” said State Game Warden Jonathan Bowman “This case highlights the importance of ethical hunting practices and the need to protect our wildlife for future generations. We appreciate the cooperation of concerned citizens in bringing these individuals to justice.”
