Multi-vehicle crash leads to road closure, lane restriction on US 220

CLINTON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) says a crash involving multiple vehicles closed down a portion of US 220 in Clinton County.

According to PennDOT, a crash involving multiple vehicles just after 6:30 p.m. caused a road closure on US 220 Northbound.

Both lanes are closed on US 220 Northbound between Exits 109 to PA 150, Mill Hall/Flemington, and Exit 111 to PA 120 West, Lock Haven, PennDOT explains.

In addition to the lane closure, PennDOT says US 220 Southbound is also experiencing a lane restriction between Exit 111 to PA 120 Westbound, Lock Haven, and Exit 109 to PA 150 Mill Hall, Flemington.

PennDOT says the road closure and lane restriction have since been lifted.

The Lock Haven Fire Department is urging drivers to avoid the area, saying there are multiple critical injuries and an entrapment.

PennDOT urges drivers to travel the posted speed limit, pay close attention to signs and flaggers, turn on their headlights, and avoid all distractions.

In high-traffic locations, PennDOT encourages drivers to use both travel lanes to the merge point and take turns merging into the open lane.
