RANSOM TWP., LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a fire at a tissue plant that has been vacant for years has been ruled arson.
On April 9, the PSP Fire Marshal Unit investigated a structure fire at the vacant Cascade Tissue plant on Main Street in Ransom Township.

Police say the property has been vacant for around four years, and no electricity or utilities are going to the building.
Investigators stated the fire originated near the roof and eventually spread throughout half of the building. The roof collapsed into the structure as the fire burned.
PSP determined that the fire was arson, and an Audi A6 was caught on camera in the parking lot before the fire.
