BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been sentenced after he held a mother and her son in New York at knifepoint and forcefully drove them to Pennsylvania, according to the Bradford County District Attorney's Office.
According to Bradford County court officials, 48-year-old Damion Lamar Gooden, of Norristown, was sentenced to a minimum of 34 months to a maximum of 13 years on the charges of aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, and terroristic threats.

In April 2024, investigators say Gooden kidnapped a mother and her son in Elmira, New York, forcing them into a car at knifepoint and driving them into Pennsylvania.
An Amber Alert notified Bradford County police departments, leading to the discovery of Gooden’s vehicle and stopping him on Beverly Lane and Loder Street in South Waverly.
Court officials noted that when Gooden completes his sentence in Pennsylvania, he will be taken to New York to be prosecuted for the initial alleged crimes that prompted the Pennsylvania prosecution and other charges that are still pending.
"Part of the sentence was also a one-month to three-month sentence for harassment, as Gooden fought with another inmate while awaiting trial in custody at the Bradford County Correctional Facility," the district attorney's office noted.
