AVOCA, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The deadline to get REAL ID is approaching fast.
PennDOT held a news conference at the Wilkes-Barre Scranton international airport to urge Pennsylvanians to prepare for the enforcement.
You will need a REAL ID-compliant driver`s license starting May 7 or another form of federally-accepted identification such as a passport to board domestic flights, enter certain federal facilities, or military bases.
Will tax on skill games make next Pennsylvania budget?
"The best thing anybody can do to be prepared for that is go to our website. Take a look to see what documents are needed. We'll need to approve of identity documents, your social security card, or other proof of social security number, showing all of the digits and two proofs of residency," Kara Templeton, deputy secretary driver and vehicle services, PennDOT.
Templeton also advises to show documentation of name changes if it is different from present documentation to be provided for the real id application.
