Celebrating National Record Store Day in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A business in Wilkes-Barre welcomed long lines of customers for a celebration of vinyl. Gallery of Sound on Mundy Street took part again in National Record Store Day.

More than 350 special edition records were available on Saturday, which helped bring out a crowd of customers.

28/22 News spoke with a shopper who camped out since Friday night at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, waiting for the store to open Saturday morning.

She was eager to get her hands on limited releases.

"I've been growing my collection for a few years now, but this is only my second year participating in Record Store Day," said Tunkhannock Shopper Hannah McClain.

"I might look around, see what I can find, but for the most part, I'm here for the Rolling Stones album that was released," Cody Kowalick, a shopper from Hazleton, explained.

National Record Store Day is held on April 12 to support independent record stores like Gallery of Sound.
