Easter Bunny makes pit stop in Pittston

PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Easter Bunny made a special pit stop in Pittston to deliver treats straight to kids.

Families lined up in their cars on Saturday at the Pittston Fire Station for the city's Annual Easter Celebration.

About 30 cars rolled through the free, drive-thru style event.

The Easter Bunny handed out hundreds of candy-filled eggs to kids.

Special Easter Egg Hunt helps visually impared kids experience holiday fun

"We love it over here, Pittston always has something fun for the kids to do. It's kind of exciting, we did an Easter Egg hunt this morning, then we came to see the Easter Bunny," said Patricia Harrison, parent of five-year-old Jack.

"We always find that the line for the Easter Drive-Thru gets longer and longer every year. We try to adapt to that, supply more as we can with donations from the Firefighters Association, Police Association, and so on," Pittston Police Department Chief Kyle Shumosic explained.

The free pittston easter celebration used to be a traditional easter egg hunt.

They say changing it to a drive-thru keeps things running smoothly, no matter what the weather brings.
