SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Tattoo artists from across the country took over downtown Scranton this weekend to show off their skills. The Electric City Tattoo Convention wrapped up on Sunday at the Hilton Scranton and Conference Center.

More than 200 top tattoo artists gathered this weekend for the three-day event, giving tattoos, competing for awards, and sharing the culture of tattoos.

"The atmosphere of it is just unmatched. I was really intimidated my first year, but everyone's been super nice and helpful and respectful, and I have no complaints. Everyone's just been a gem," Elmhurst Township resident James Conway said.

"Everybody here is top tier, I will say that every year does get a little bit better somehow, whether its be the cooking outside, the staff here and the hotel is amazing, Scranton is just a beautiful city, man," Billy White, a Tattoo Artist from Zanesville, Ohio, explained.

The tattoo convention continues until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hilton Scranton and Conference Center.

Tickets are available at the door for $20.
