WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — We now know a man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Wilkes-Barre Monday night.
Emergency crews were called to North Pennsylvania Avenue and East Union Street in the city just after 8:00 p.m. for a report of a person hit by a vehicle.
Police say when they arrived, they found a 54-year-old man from Wilkes-Barre seriously injured and provided care until EMS arrived.
The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
The area was blocked off by police vehicles and tape while crews gathered information about the crash.
Police say the investigation into the is ongoing.
