WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The coroner's office has stated a man hit by a car in Wilkes-Barre Monday evening has died.
The Luzerne County Coroner's office confirmed with 28/22 News that 54-year-old Michael Walter died at the hospital after being hit by a car on April 14.
Emergency crews were called to North Pennsylvania Avenue and East Union Street in Wilkes-Barre just after 8:00 p.m. for a report of a person hit by a vehicle.

Police say when they arrived, they found Walter, a Wilkes-Barre resident, seriously injured and provided care until EMS arrived.
Walter later died that evening at the hospital from his injuries.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
