(WBRE/WYOU) — State police are searching for a man wanted after they say he stole credit card information from 19 customers who visited a Chinese buffet in Luzerne County.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an access device fraud/theft that happened in Hazle Township in December 2013.
19 victims have reported unauthorized charges on their credit/debit cards at various locations in Hazleton, Wilkes-Barre, Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton.
According to troopers, one of the victims stated his credit card was used at the Walmart in Hazle Township, and surveillance video showed two men trying to use multiple credit cards to purchase pre-paid credit cards.
Two arrested during DUI checkpoints
More victims came forward, and state police discovered that a common factor was that all victims had eaten at the Jumbo China Buffet in Hazle Township in early to mid-December 2013.
The victims claimed that an employee who took their credit cards to pay for their meals would "take an abnormally long time to return with their cards," investigators said.
One of the suspects was identified as 60-year-old Xu Jian Hua, who was seen on surveillance using several stolen credit card numbers to make purchases.
In April 2014, an arrest warrant was issued for Hua on the following charges:
Theft
Forgery
Access device fraud
Identify theft
Police said the total value of the reported theft is $4,600.
HUA's last known address was in Brooklyn, New York.
