Two women accused of restraining malnourished child to bed

LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two women have been arrested after investigators say a child in their care was malnourished and restrained to a bed.

According to Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce, 52-year-old Stacey Ann Louder and 35-year-old Amanda Lynn Gregorio, both of Exeter Borough, were arrested for aggravated assault of a victim under thirteen.

Detectives stated that while under the custody of Louder and Gregorio, the child was restrained to their bed by their hands, chest, feet, and legs, including while they were asleep.

The victim suffered bruising and was malnourished to 50 pounds, which was stated to be a one-one-hundredths (0.01) percentile for a healthy child of that age, police said.

"The abuse of this child offends the sense of decency of every mother, grandmother, and otherwise respectable person imaginable. Once again, the very people to whom this child would look to keep her safe were her assailants," Sanguedolce said.

Police did not say how they discovered the child abuse allegations.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Luzerne County Detectives George Keifer or Alexandra Nolan at 570-825-1674.
