SHAVERTOWN, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Shavertown Fire Department is turning 100 years old, and to celebrate, they are hosting a community day on Saturday, May 3.

From 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., there will be local vendors, food trucks, opportunities to touch the trucks, a mobile safety smokehouse, vehicle/fire safety demonstrations, face painting, games, and more.

Carbon County nonprofit hands out air quality monitors
The event will be Saturday, May 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 149 North Main Street, Shavertown, the future home of the Shavertown Fire Department.
