One man dead, Route 6 reopened after crash

PALMYRA TOWNSHIP, PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— One man is dead after a fatal crash Saturday morning along Route 6.

According to Pike County Communications Center, crews were called to the intersection of US-6 and Kimbles Road for a car accident just before 9:30 a.m.

Pennsylvania State Police say 78-year-old Frederic Underhill, of Maryknoll, New York, was killed this morning in a two car crash.

Trooper say that Underhill was traveling westbound along Route 6 when he traveled into the eastbound lane striking an incoming car.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital to be treated for unknown injuries.

It is unknown at this time if there were any injuries.

U.S. 6 is now open as of 2:35 p.m.
