LOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) have identified the victim in an alleged deadly stabbing in Lycoming County Sunday morning.
According to troopers, state police responded to the Liberty Lodge on the 2000 block of East Third Street around 10:00 a.m. to check on the welfare of a resident.
Upon arrival, it was determined there an altercation occurred between two hotel residents that resulted in a fatal stabbing, according to the release.
Burnt body under investigation in Luzerne County
In a release, PSP says the victim was identified as 52-year-old Shannon Bowes from Pennsylvania.
Bowes was deceased upon arrival of emergency services, according to state police.
Troopers also identified the alleged actor as 46-year-old New York man, Robert Bohart.
Bohart was charged with criminal homicide, was denied bail by District Judge Gardner, and taken to prison, according to PSP.
State police say Bowes and Bohart were in nearby rooms and did not know each other otherwise.
After an unknown cause, troopers say Bohart allegedly assaulted and fatally stabbed the victim.
PSP says that there is an ongoing investigation, and that there is no threat to the public; more information will be released at a later time.
