WEATHERLY, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A former Carbon County mayor resigned after being accused of sexual harassment. Borough Council claims they were made aware of allegations of sexual harassment from several borough employees.
2822's Gianna Galli sat down exclusively with Paul Hadzick on Wednesday.
Hadzick claims he never harmed or harassed anyone, but now feels he has no choice but to step aside from a decades-long career serving his community.
The former district judge of more than 40 years submitted his resignation Monday evening, which the borough council accepted.
A name tag is all that's left to Paul John Hadzick's career.
"Seems to be, at this point, falling apart," Hadzick said.
The Weatherly man has served as mayor for five years, and on Monday evening, that came to an abrupt end.
It was in the executive session of a borough meeting when Hadzick says a Philadelphia attorney asked for his resignation.
He was told the borough was made aware of allegations of sexual harassment by four borough employees.
"In my heart, I didn't sexually harass anybody, especially four people," Hadzick explained.
Hadzick resigned right then and there at the meeting.
A post on the borough's website states the following:
Prior to the Mayor’s resignation, the Borough became aware of allegations of sexual harassment made by four Borough employees. The Borough hired an independent, impartial law firm to conduct a thorough investigation. The results of that investigation were presented to Borough Council in executive session on April 28, 2025. Following the presentation of the results to the Borough Council, Mayor Hadzick tendered his resignation.
After his resignation, the Mayor Hadzick posted about the investigation on his personal Facebook page. The Borough does not condone these statements. There have been no allegations of sexual abuse, and the identities of the four complainants were not released during the executive session.

"I don't know how to prove that I didn't do it," Hadzick stated.
Hadzick served 47 years as a former district magistrate in seven counties.
He was the Weatherly Citizens Fire Company chief for a year, Weatherly School Board member, and borough council president.
He also coached the Weatherly High School girls' basketball team from 1987 to 2021.
"I put in a really good career for 47 years, and to have it end the way it's ending is hurtful, because it never happened," Hadzick continued.
The borough has hired a private law firm to conduct the investigation.
The results remain confidential, and Hadzick has not been charged with any crime.
Borough officials are not commenting on specific details and say there will be a meeting held on May 27 to fill the position of mayor.
