End of the "Rhode" for Rocky Rhodes

PITTSTON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Northeastern Pennsylvania radio legend Rocky Rhodes is now officially retired.

The KRZ morning man hung up his headphones this morning after entertaining listeners one last time before signing-off from the "Rocky and Lissa in the Morning" show.

Rocky joined KRZ in 1989 with former co-host and wife Sue Barre.

He left the area briefly in 1998 then returned and has co-hosted with Lissa Krahnke since 2012.

Rocky previously worked at radio stations in Maine and South Carolina.

Rocky talked with us about some of his favorite memories throughout his decades-long career.

"Lots and lots of memories, marrying a couple on stage at montage during a meatloaf concert which was a blast. I did an NSYNC marathon where I listened to NSYNC for 24 hours," remembered Rhodes.

"So stuff like that getting involved in the community and giving back has been a big part of my 35 years," added Rhodes.

We wish Rocky the best on his retirement.
