Pennsylvania primary election deadlines approaching

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The clock is ticking to register for the upcoming primary election in Pennsylvania.

Monday is the final day to become eligible to vote if you have not already registered.

This month's election is a closed primary, so only Republicans and Democrats can cast votes for their respective parties.

Although all voters can weigh in on ballot questions.

Mail-in ballot applications are due no later than Tuesday, May 13, at 5:00 p.m.

Mail ballots must be received by county election officials by election day, May 20, at 8:00 p.m.

The polls will be open on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
