Still no sign of missing 10-year-old girl in Lycoming County

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The weather is the reason crews have called off their search on Tuesday for a 10-year-old girl in Lycoming County who was swept away while playing in the Susquehanna River on Sunday.

Since then, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) and other departments have been assisting in the ongoing search to bring her home.

The search was called off around 3:00 p.m. due to the weather.

There is still no sign of the 10-year-old girl.

Severe weather across NEPA

10-year-old Claue Schreffler Algofera has not been seen since she was seen going over the Hepburn Street Dam Sunday morning, according to authorities.

PSP was out on the water once again on Tuesday with South Williamsport Fire Department support, searching for the girl.

The river has had multiple entities search the river as far as Lewisburg and Milton using sonar technology, underwater cameras, and dogs with no findings.

The girl is a third-grade student in the South Williamsport Area School District, and the superintendent says there is extra emotional support and counseling on hand for those who need it.

The community has been rallying behind the family in hopes of finding Claue.
