Man sentenced up to 60 years for murdering his grandmother

MILFORD TOWNSHIP, PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Pike County man has been sentenced to 23 to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to the homicide of his grandmother in April of 2024.

According to Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin, George F. Sisco pleaded guilty but mentally ill on March 7 to third-degree murder, arson, endangering persons, and terroristic threats and was sentenced on May 9 to 23 to 60 years in prison for the murder of his grandmother.

According to police, Sisco struck, then stabbed his grandmother, and set her body on fire.

Police say Sisco claimed "she was the devil and I had to do it".

State police say Sisco was found at the scene, covered in blood.

Sisco has been sentenced to 23 to 60 years in prison.
