Man charged in connection with shots fired, thefts

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Lackawanna County man has been arrested in connection with a shots fired incident in early April.

20-year-old Ralph Frederick Jr., Scranton, was taken into custody on May 15 and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Terroristic Threats among other charges by Scranton Police and Pennsylvania State Police.

According to a release by the Scranton Police Department, police were called to the 600 block of of Brook Street for a report of shots fired.

Officers found multiple shell casings that damaged a home and nearby vehicle.

Through investigation, it was determined that Frederick was the shooter and had also allegedly been involved in several vehicle thefts across Scranton and Lackawanna County.

On May 15, Frederick was taken into custody along with a handgun with a scratched off serial number, ammunition, and several other pieces of evidence, according to the release.

Pennsylvania State Police will have further charges against Frederick for the theft of vehicle incidents.
