SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — After almost two weeks, rescue crews say the search for a missing Lycoming County girl came to a tragic end on Saturday.
On Facebook, the South Williamsport Fire Department announced that 10-year-old Claue was recovered and the water rescue incident has officially closed.
According to South Williamsport Fire Department, the girl was recovered just before 6:00 p.m. Saturday along the Susquehanna River in Sunbury.
The 10 year-old has been missing since earlier this month.
Packers Island in Sunbury is where the search for the missing girl ended Saturday.
The 10-year-old was playing in the river with her mother nearly two weeks ago when she was swept away by the current.
Her disappearance happened about 40 miles upstream in South Williamsport near the Hepburn Street Dam.
