SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man who has previously been charged in a child rape investigation and having alleged sexual contact with another minor, has now been charged with the rape of an intellectually disabled teen.
According to police, Tara Glan, 22, Scranton, has been charged with rape of a mentally disabled person, Involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person with a mental disability, and aggravated indecent assault.
Police say that Glan sexually assaulted the victim approximately 18 times, eight of which happened at the Ray of Hope Church where Glan ran the youth group, and 10 happened in the van that Glan drove for the church.

According to the affidavit, the sexual assaults happened from July 1, 2021, to July 1, 2023, when the victim was 16 to 18 years old.
Police say Glan was also physically abusive towards children while at church. They say he would make all of the children line up and slap each other in the face, and the child who slapped the other in the face the hardest would win a prize.
According to police, Glan would also hit them with sticks on their hands, legs, and backs.
Glan is locked up in the Lackawanna County Prison.
