WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Luzerne County, the largest county in northeastern Pennsylvania, had key races and issues to watch on Tuesday.
Luzerne County has had some problems in recent years running elections. I-Team Reporter Andy Mehalshick has been watching the vote count in the county all day.
All systems were go on Tuesday in Luzerne County. There were no major problems to report. In fact, the vote count was well underway at the Luzerne County Penn Place office building, which houses the election bureau.
The operation was quite a scene.
Poll workers from around Luzerne County brought computer cards, paper ballots, and anything connected to the voting process to Penn Place.
They are organized and taken upstairs to the bureau of elections for counting, and that counting will be completed on Tuesday.

"So the Judge of Elections closes the polls. They have documents that have to be in the Judge's bag, and the actual ballot marking devices is returned. So we process there, here, and we bring the ballot marking devices up to the bureau where votes are put into the sure system and tallied," Crocamo explained.
The results will be certified later this week.
