WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A fire has destroyed a popular restaurant in Luzerne County.
Adelina's Restaurant and Pizzeria on Route 309 / South Mountain Boulevard in Wright Township sustained severe damage after a fire tore through it early Tuesday morning.

According to Wright Fire Chief Dave Pettit, the fire was called in around 5:00 a.m. when an employee showed up for work and discovered the fire in the back of the building.
Crews on scene told 28/22 News that the fire quickly spread and could be seen shooting through the roof when they arrived.
Officials say that, by the time they were able to extinguish the fire about two hours later, the roof had collapsed and the fire had gutted the building.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, a fire marshal will investigate.
