Rock and Roll HOFer coming to Wilkes-Barre this summer

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The city of Wilkes-Barre is not "Out of Touch" with their music taste.

The city is bringing Rock and Roll Hall of Famer John Oates to Public Square this summer for the third annual free summer concert series.

Oates is half of the legendary duo "Hall and Oates" which churned out hit after hit in the 1970s and 80s including such smashes as "An American singer, guitarist, songwriter, and record producer, best known for his work in the pop-rock duo Hall & Oates with Daryl Hall."

Some of his hits include Maneater and Private Eyes.

"Every year I promise a rock concert on the square as long as I'm mayor and we're going to continue that and the acts we bring out are quality acts that have a lot of history a lot of hits like John Oates does," stated Mayor George Brown.

In the last two years alone, more than 6,000 people came out to the square.

The concert is free to the public and made possible by several different sponsors. This years free summer concert in downtown Wilkes-Barre with John Oates is august 23 at 8:00 p.m.
