The course took runners from Veterans Memorial Stadium, through neighborhoods, and ended a block away from the iconic Revello's Pizza.

This is the third year that runners, walkers, and first responders have taken part.

Lower gas prices bringing record Memorial Day weekend travel

"Some of my favorite moments are seeing athletes that are new to running or maybe they're not the fastest, they don't run marathons, they complete this race, it's not an easy course it's very hilly at the end, so as an athlete myself I really appreciate the efforts here and they're here for us," Old Forge Fire Department Race Coordinator A'Leia Stull told 28/22 News.

"Doing a 5k has always been on my bucket list, just so happens a couple of my co-workers are involved with the fire department so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to support a good cause and crush a bucket list task, so you know I'm really excited," Trucksville Runner Katie Reddock said.

This year's run raised more than $10,000.

All proceeds from the Borough's Bravest 5K directly benefit the operations and needs of the Old Forge Fire Department.
