I-80 chase concludes after officer involved shooting

GREENE TOWNSHIP, CLINTON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Pennsylvania State Police state that a chase that started in Union County, ended with troopers using force a county over.

According to a Pennsylvania State Police release, a trooper attempted to make a traffic stop after a white Ford F-250 with dark tinted windows was speeding in the area of PA-15 near Joe Road in White Deer Township, Union County just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday night.

The trooper states he put on his emergency lights, but the driver failed to pull over and traveled into Greene Township.

Additional units assisted in the pursuit, and successfully deployed spike strips.

One dead, one injured after early morning shooting

"Additional use of force operations were conducted" resulting in an officer involved shooting after the truck came to a stop, according to the release.

Troopers say the driver sustained a leg injury and life saving measure were conducted by troopers on-scene.

The operator was then transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Officials say that no troopers were injured during the chase.

An investigation is currently ongoing.

Interstate 80 West near Greene Township was closed around 8:45 p.m. for an investigation and was reopened around 3:00 a.m., according to 511pa.com.
