HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— One man is in custody after a shooting that killed one man and injured another.
Jose Sandoval Perez is being held on charges of felony Theft of a Firearm, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Firearms not to be Carried without a License.
Hazleton City Police Chief Brian Schoonmaker and District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce released a statement saying police were dispatched around 1:30 a.m. to a local bar and restaurant at the corner of 20th and Alter Street for a report of shots fired.

Arriving units saw one man unresponsive on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds with another man who was conscious sufferied multiple gunshot wounds.
The man that was unconscious was determined dead at the hospital just before 2:30 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, according to Luzerne County Coroner Dion Fernandes.
Witnesses described the shooter as being a tall, dark-skinned Hispanic male wearing a leather shirt, grey pants, sunglasses, and having dreadlocks in a ponytail.
Through investigation, Sandoval Perez was identified to be shooter, and detained shortly after.
Police explained that the firearm Salvador Perez allegedly shot two people is a stolen firearm from a nearby residence.
Police have determined this to be an isolated incident among people in the establishment and does not present any danger to the surrounding community.
Sandoval Perez bail was arraigned by MDJ Dixion, his bail was denied.
The shooting is under investigation by Hazleton City Police Department and Luzerne County District Detectives.
