Many receiving scam texts claiming to be Pa. courts

(WBRE/WYOU) — The Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts is warning the public of a text message scam claiming to be the PA Courts and/or the United Judicial System website.

The courts say the scam involves a text message that says "records show that as of today, there is an outstanding traffic ticket," which must be paid via a scam URL.

They say the texts go on to outline fictitious actions and penalties that will be taken if the ticket is not paid, including license and vehicle suspension.
