STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The month of June marks Pride Month, and the heart of the Poconos kicked it off on Sunday in a big way. The Fifth Annual Pocono Pride Festival filled the streets of downtown Stroudsburg Sunday afternoon.
A huge crowd turned out for the event featuring dozens of food and craft vendors.
Pride flags hung from light posts, and live performances from musicians to drag performers filled the festival's center stage.
Organizers say the event aims to bring the community together by celebrating love.

"It's good that we get to show who we are and show the community who we are and show the community that we're never backing down and that we're always here," Saylorsburg resident Brandon Garcia said.
"There's so many people who don't get this kind of love from family, but they come here and they get that same love from strangers. It's, it's amazing," Ashton Santella from New Jersey told 28/22 News.
Organizers say the festival welcomes anyone to come out and show support for the LGBTQ+ community.
