Griffin Pond reveals lobby enhancements

SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A ceremonial ribbon cutting marks an improvement at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.

The event was held on Sunday at the facility near Clarks Summit to mark the completion of renovations to the lobby.

The leadership Lackawanna team made the lobby their project to benefit staff, volunteers, and the animals who come there.

The team worked for ten months enhancing the space with new coats of paint, upgraded furniture, and a new cat habitat.

"So, it was just a really rewarding experience to be able to do this for them and to really make this a better space for them for the team that they have here," Leadership Lackawanna Team Member Jordan McAndrew said.

"Before, our lobby was like a mix-match of like different items throughout our lobby. Now, it's streamlined, it looks more modern, and it looks amazing," Griffin Pond Animal Shelter Development Director Sherry Crolly explained.

Griffin Pond officials say the work provided by Leadership Lackawanna is so valuable since the non-profit shelter struggles to raise funds to pay all the bills.
