Glider makes emergency landing in high school field

TUNKHANNOCK, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — According to Tunkhannock Township Police, a glider landed on school district property in an emergency landing Monday afternoon.

Police say the glider left Elmira, NY, and was heading towards Wellsboro, PA, with the plan to go back to Elmira.

Senior farmers market voucher distributions cancelled

The pilot told first responders that he missed a necessary updraft to complete the trip and chose an alternate landing site.

Police say no one was injured and that the FAA was notified for further investigation.
