'This gun will kill', one charged in attempted robbery

AUBURN TOWNSHIP, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man fired a shot at the back of someone's car after attempting to rob them.

Gerald Sutton, 42, has been charged after police say that on June 7, he stopped somebody on Baker Road in Auburn Township, with a rifle in his hand, and pointed the gun at the driver of the car.

According to police, Sutton said, "give me all your money" to the victim, and when the victim refused, Sutton pointed the gun at the victim to the point where his arms were in the car and said "this gun will kill".

Police say the victim forced the gun out of their face and drove away, and Sutton fired a shot that hit the back of the car.

According to a press release, a gun was found near the scene. Police say Sutton is a felon and cannot possess a firearm.

Sutton has been charged and was unable to post $300,000 bail. He is being held at Wayne County Jail.
