MONTOURSVILLE, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Lycoming County Coroner has identified the body of the missing kayaker from Loyalsock Creek.
The coroner has identified 26-year-old Dakota MacGill as the kayaker whose body was recovered by the Harrisburg River Rescue team from the Loyalsock Creek.
According to the coroner, MacGill, along with another kayak with two people in it, capsized in the rapids south of the launch site of the Loyalsock Creek on Saturday.

The other two people were wearing flotation devices and were able to get to shore.
MacGill, who was described as an experienced kayaker, was not wearing a flotation vest, and the coroner says he was apparently pulled under by the water currents, resulting in his drowning.
Harrisburg River Rescue personnel were able to locate MacGill under about 12 feet of water at the bottom of the creek.
