WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Wayne County District Attorney's Office is warning people about a man impersonating a county detective, threatening to apprehend people if they did not respond.
According to the district attorney, a man was claiming to be Wayne County Detective "Charlie Macky". They confirm there is no such person named Charlie Macky who is a Wayne County Detective.
The District Attorney's Office says "Macky" would send agents to apprehend the person if they did not call back, and provided a callback number.

Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell warns people of phone calls from people claiming to be law enforcement, and that it is almost always a scam where the caller is trying to get money.
The district attorney says if a legitimate officer calls you, they will never ask for money in exchange for dismissing criminal charges.
