WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The public finally gets a chance to speak on a controversial mural in Wilkes-Barre.
The mural is spanning down parts of Blackman and Arch Streets in the Rolling Mill Hill section of Wilkes-Barre.
The public had the opportunity to share their opinion at the city council meeting Thursday night.
All who spoke, saying it looks like graffiti and is too violent and would rather have something that's more representative of the Diamond City.

"We're hoping through communication that we can make some progress. Councilman brooks is reaching out to the artist to see if we can have some adjustments made, and I'm hopeful that we can," stated Bill Barrett, council member, City of Wilkes-Barre.
"Personally, I would've loved to see a mural there that enhanced the look of the neighborhood and told a story that would show the pride of the area," added Linda Joseph, President, Rolling Mill Hill Resident Association.
As of right now, the mural will stay because it's on private property.
