EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A big crowd is enjoying some of the most delicious pierogies you will ever find in northeastern Pennsylvania. All you need is someone to judge the tastiest, and that's where a pair of 28/22 news anchors comes into play.
Nick Toma and Tom Williams were among the celebrity judges Saturday afternoon at the Edwardsville Pierogi Festival.
They sat down to determine who made the best potato-filled dough delicacies.
While Nick and Tom showed up to judge, many other folks just came out to enjoy the delicious dumplings.

"We've been getting good reviews on the pierogi egg rolls. Everyone is surprised to see pierogi in an egg roll. They're pretty good. We're selling a lot of them," R Bar & Grill Vendor and Owner Pasquale Boba told 28/22 News.
"We're happy to do it. We want our community to thrive and let people know that we're here and how much fun it is, and just for everyone to have a good time," Edwardsville Hometown Committee Secretary Stacey Casey said.
This marks the 11th year for the Edwardsville Pierogi Festival. The two-day event wraps up Saturday at 10:00 p.m. in Luzerne County.
