HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say several people were detained after shots were reportedly fired and officers were led on a chase through Hazleton Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, shortly before 1:00 p.m., the Hazleton City Police Department received a Raven Gun Shot Detection in the area of North Vine Street and 14th Street.
Officers say when they arrived on scene, they found multiple shell casings and through an investigation, Hazleton City Detectives found the vehicle involved.
Authorities explain that officers later found the vehicle while trying to perform a traffic stop when it reportedly sped away.

The car stopped in the area of West Spruce Street and North Locust Street after the occupants bailed out, leaving the car to roll into a parked box truck, according to Hazleton City police.
At this time, Hazleton City Police say they detained multiple people related to the investigation.
Authorities add that more information will be released when it doesn't jeopardize the integrity of the case.
Hazleton City Police ask anyone with information on the incident to call 911 or submit a tip online.
