BUTLER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say three men have been charged in relation to a stolen car that crashed after a police pursuit on Interstate 81 in Luzerne County.
According to police, 18-year-olds Anthony Almonte and Frallen Perez, and 21-year-old Carlos Herrera Alvarez, all from Hazleton, have been charged after a stolen car crashed in a police pursuit that happened on Wednesday morning.
Police say they detected a stolen car driving and attempted to pull the car over. When the police engaged, the three fled, which led to a pursuit ending in the car crashing, and the three men running on foot.
According to the affidavit, the chase started in Schuylkill County and ended near Hazleton.

According to police, Almonte was found near the scene attempting to hide behind a tree, along with Perez, who was also found near the scene trying to conceal himself from police.
Police say they identified Herrera Alvarez through videos and apprehended him around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the affidavit, a gun was found in the weeds by the scene where the suspects fled.
All three men are facing different charges in relation to this incident.
