SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Thursday was the sixth annual block party hosted by Black Scranton's celebration of Juneteenth.

There was roller skating, live music, and games for the whole family to enjoy.

Organizers hope to see the event continue to grow.

"We're hoping to make this bigger and better and maybe even block off the whole four corners one year and be able to have it. We want to add a bouncy house and different stuff for the kids, so every year we're hoping to make it bigger and better," expressed Amber Viola, Media Coordinator, Lackawanna County NAACP.

"I hope it gets bigger and more cities spread out and see the Juneteenth is nice. It's a good celebration. It's worth it, come and just be a part of it. It's nice. It's nice holiday," said Fran Jackson, New York.
