Local school takes part in farmers market

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Some fresh faces giving out fresh produce, that's what many found at the Graham Academy produce stand in Kingston.

Students grades K-8 manned the event, selling fresh farm goods like tomatoes, peppers, and eggs.

Staff says the students are involved in every step, not just the sales.

Throughout the summer and school year they plant seeds, collect eggs, and harvest the crops.

"They absolutely enjoy coming out and helping in the garden. It's fun for them. They learn a lot, and they also learn a lot through play in the garden too. It's just, it's just, it's very good for them to get outside and get their hands in the dirt," voiced Tyzaeha Kenzakoski, Environmental Science Teacher, Graham Academy.

The Graham Academy produce stand is open every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from now until September.
