PHOTOS: Fallen tree leaves home uninhabitable

LEWISBURG, UNION COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Crews responded to a tree into a house Thursday evening after storms passed through Central Pennsylvania.

According to Officer Mosso of the Buffalo Valley Regional Police, crews were called to the unit block of South Water Street just after 8:00 p.m. for reports of a tree into a house.

One person was home at the time, but got out themselves.

All utilities were turned off when crews arrived on-scene and will remain off for the night.

Crews are still on-scene as of 11:30 p.m. trying to take the tree off the home late into the night.

As of now, Mosso says the building is uninhabitable, but is currently home to six apartments.

Officials say they will get a better look in the daylight when the tree is off the home and a service engineer will come out to fully survey the damage and structural integrity.

The Weather Service will also be out to investigate.

It is unknown at this time how many people are displaced.
