SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A flower theme is helping usher in this first weekend of summer in Scranton.
The Nay Aug Park bandstand was the place to be on Saturday for the Electric City Flower Show.
More than 100 flower entries were submitted for the show that serves as both a competition and a celebration of flower growing.

The event also included photography competitions, live music, and fun for all ages.
The Electric City Flower Show teamed up with the Everhart Museum to host Saturday's fun.
"I love the fact that they are offering this free event, and it's plant people getting together and enjoying sharing ideas and enjoy selling things. I appreciate the event coordinators and all the work that they put into it," expressed April Redfield, vendor/business owner, Redfield Farm.
"We love events like this because it brings people out to the museum again. This museum has been here for 117 years, built in 1908, and it's the kind of thing, you know, you may take for granted that if you live here in the city and you kind of forget that it's here," explained Tim Holmes, CEO/director, Everhart Museum.
Organizers say they will look into possible additions to make next year's Electric City Flower Show another success.
