KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The weather could not be better for a celebration along one of the most popular local rivers known for recreational activities.
Music, exhibits and nature-oriented activities make-up Riverfest 2025 at Nesbitt Park near Wilkes-Barre.
Folks came out along the sun-filled banks of the Susquehanna River and could get a look at all sort of things including the types of fish known to inhabit the waters there.
The Riverfront Parks Committee hosts this event now in its 31st year.

"Our mission is environment education, awareness, and recreation so we consider this park and the park on the other side of the river in the city of Wilkes-Barre along the Susquehanna as our classroom. So how do you get somebody in your classroom? You make it fun," explained John Maday Volunteer/Executive Director, Riverfront Parks Committee.
The Riverfront Parks Committee plans to hold its next big event next month along the Susquehanna River.
It will offer canoe and kayak tours along the Susquehanna July 25 to the 27.
