Weather Alert: Excessive heat warnings continue across Pa.

(WBRE/WYOU) — We officially broke all the old record high temperatures Monday with new records at Avoca, Williamsport, and Mount Pocono. Records may be broken once again Tuesday.

After record-breaking high temperatures on Monday, we really don't get any relief from the heat and humidity on Tuesday. Once again, plenty of sunshine will heat us up to the mid-90s by the afternoon (today's records: AVP 94 degrees from 1908/1923, IPT 100 degrees from 1923/1925, MPO 92 degrees from 1914).

Heat Advisories remain in effect for all of northeastern and central Pennsylvania as heat indices may reach 100-105 degrees.

While most of the day is dry, a stray late-day shower or storm can't be ruled out. Tuesday night will be warm and muggy with a mainly clear sky. Lows fall to the lower 70s.

Wednesday will start off dry with a mix of clouds and sun. Though, we do have a better chance for an afternoon/evening shower or thunderstorm. Highs around 90 and humid.

The ridge of high pressure breaks down Thursday with more clouds than sun. Rounds of showers and storms will be likely from Thursday through Saturday.

Highs on Thursday in the lower 80s, upper 70s Friday, lower 80s Saturday. Despite temperatures being cooler, it will remain muggy each day. Sunday and Monday will be partly sunny with a possible shower or thunderstorm. Highs on Sunday in the mid 80s, upper 80s Monday.
